45 Years Ago at the Library…

The February 1974 issue of The County Line announced that for the following month of March, the 1920’s would be featured in activities, displays, book discussions, and even a costume day when the staff planned to dress in 1920’s style. Director Lewis Naylor explained the upcoming tax levies and their importance to the library. Community groups and Friends’ members planned campaign events to promote the levies beginning in mid-April. Branch happenings included the posting of recent Sylvania Friends’ elected officers, open house events at Lagrange-Central and Point Place, and the highlighting of helpful staff at the Locke Branch. Author Jan Wahl met with children’s librarians for an informal discussion about his writing.
